Scott Riley is from New York City.

He went to the School of Visual Arts, graduated in 1984,  and has exhibited his work internationally since. In the 80´s he worked at the Shafrazi Gallery, and the Palladium nightclub in New York, doing art handling and installation.

In the 90´s he opened a bar/gallery/club in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, called ´612 Metropolitan´, an early venue for the artists, musicians and writers that have gone on to make Williamsburg the cultural nexus that it is today.

In 1996 he moved to Hong Kong, and then on to Glasgow, Scotland in 1997.

Since 2003 he has been living and working in Barcelona, Spain.
